I were a kid. I wish I still had that innocence in me, that would just let me be. Isn't it an amazing quality in kids. The unadulterated innocence that conquers the world. That little frown, the half moon smile, those tears drops that aren't shameful to kiss the earth, the never ending volley of questions..... God I wish I am still part of that world.
I am reminded of the ad i saw the other day. A kid will be banned from playing by his mom. He takes his toy phone and calls up his dad asking to scold his mom.. When he comes back his mom lets him play. The kid is jumping in joy thinking that his call to his dad had made the difference. This purely depicts the innocence of that kid... No words need be spoken here. Just that face says it all. I wish I still have the purity of thought. No strings attached!
We were kids once. Not very long ago. Where did we lose that innocence? When did we grow up so old? As a kid I do not care if I had money. As a kid I do not care if my friend spoke the same language as mine. As a kid I never differentiated between a kid who got down from a BMW and the kid who stayed in the hut by the gutter. So how is it that as i grow up I started seeing all these and more.
I wish I am a kid again. Where it is a no-nonsense world. Where I do not seek anything. Where I am at peace. Where I laugh whenever I want to and cry at the drop of a hat. Where I do not have a mind and a heart, Its just one thing that speaks and I listen to it, whatever it is called. Where I just be.......

I think its good to have been a kid but better to be an adult too., as long as you are child-like. I learnt the difference between being childish and childlike. Being childish sucks. Nobody wants to see a child in an adults' body. Being childlike is hilarious! Trust me. I know. I am! :)
ReplyDeleteI wish i were a kid
ReplyDeleteThough i enjoy taking family responsibility,I wish i were a kid
not knowing the value of money
Though i love my bike rides ,I wish i were a kid
Holding my Dad's hand going to market and enjoy the chocolate that he bought me
Though i love the latest pizzas,black forest,etc
I wish i were a kid , waiting to get the taste of my mothers home made food when she cooks
Though i enjoy rain these days
I wish i were a kid , looking at the dark clouds and hearing the news just to see if i get a holiday
Though i enjoy watching sports these days
I wish i were a kid , playing games in all possible street corners, breaking window glasses
Though i feel proud about the respect i get these days
I wish i were a kid , to see elders make fun of my innocence
Though i dont believe in god these days
I wish i were a kid , praying for absence of my class teacher to escape from test
Wish those days come back .Life is good always but it was at its best when i was a kid .Now i agree being childlike is hilarious at times but when i was a kid i was enjoying life at all times. We lost most of our innocence ,shameless tears, unconditional love, natural smile and plenty more in the name of growing up and being mature.
Sriram : I know you are :).
ReplyDeleteGiri : That is so beautifully said :)
This type of posts will always be very special in my view. They always remain very close to me not because I too love childhood but because those lines make me not to leave this beautiful childhood. Those lines make me not to grow old.
ReplyDeleteA very cute post i must say...
Asif : Many times in life, we make ourselves take a kid like stance to pretend not to feel pain or to have fun out of the situation. But how pathetic. Given an option, I will happily get back to that age where there is no pretense. And thanks :)
